It has been recently revealed that everyone’s favorite photo app will soon be implementing advertisements. According to The Wall Street Journal, Instagram will begin introducing ads to its users. It has not been determined what the ads are going to look like, but we should expect to see them within the next year or so.
The Wall Street Journal reports that possible placement for the ads will be in the “Discover” and “Search” functions of the app, which would allow users to see the ads while they are browsing trending topics or exploring specific themes.
The potential upside for businesses to advertise with Instagram is quite appealing with the news that the app has recently acquired over 150 million users. This is a huge opportunity for companies to integrate themselves with the mobile media craze.
